Dead Frog Brewing Co. – Antidisestablishmentarianism Amber Ale Review
In Support of Colin Jack and his family the Dead Frog Brewing Company has released the Antidisestablishmentarianism Amber Ale where $4 from each bottle will be donated to the Colin Jack Scholarship Fund. This beer is a crisp amber colour which is topped with two fingers of fine and lacing head. The aroma coming off this beer is of toasted malt, caramel sweetness, a touch of honey, Caribbean rum and the slightest of oak. The flavour is larger than your typical amber ale with the Rum-Oak notes coming through stronger than you may guess. This earthy flavour along side a light caramel sweetness, toasted malt and hop bitter finish makes for a pleasant yet boldly flavoured beer. The 6.5% alcohol rating actually seems low given the flavour and the finish is quite dry with a malty tone to it. If you are into a solid amber ale that has the depth you desire in a winter favorite then the Antidisestablishmentarianism from Dead Frog may just be the ticket. Even if it isn’t your cup of tea it feels great to support the Colin Jack Scholarship Fund.
