Bridge Brewing Quaywi Sour Ale ReviewBridge Brewing Co. – Quaywi Kiwi Sour Ale Review

There aren’t many Kiwi beers on the market but Bridge Brewing has brewed what they are calling The Quaywi Sour ale named after North Vancouver’s Lonsdale Quay. This beer comes in bomber bottles and was brewed as a part of the Tap & Barrel series of exclusive draught beers. The brew pours from the bottle a colour of yellow-straw with a finger of head that settles without a trace. The aroma is sour with subtle yet distinct kiwi acidity on the nose. Tasting the beer it has a distinct wheat character and sharp sour tone up front. The Kiwi notes are somewhat subdued while the sourness and wheat tones take charge. As a somewhat one dimensional sour ale the acid kick is intense and will tend towards many sour beer fans while the kiwi is playing second fiddle. If you are into sour and refreshing beers this is a tasty option though, plus the subtle kiwi flavour adds a unique element to the brew.
