Foamers’ Folly Brewing – Juicy Double Strawberry White IPA Review
Foamers’ Folley has brewed up a Double White IPA where they used strawberries to twist things up. This beer pours a hazy golden colour with a very thin layer of head which settles with a touch of lacing left behind on the glass. Smelling the beer it is a balance of tropical fruit hop character and a strawberry tone that is a bit jammy. Tasting the beer the carbonation is quite low which gives a bit of a boozy bite right off the bat. The mouthfeel has a bit of a powdery texture from the wheat content as well. In the flavour the strawberry is subtle and works well wit notes of mango, citrus and passion fruit with a medium bitterness that grows throughout. The booziness lingers as well throughout the tasting experience. This is unique with strawberry adding to the mix and is a different take on the tropical, fruit forward beers in a double white IPA package.
