Phillips Brewing and Malting Co.- Glitter Bomb Hazy Pale Ale Review
Phillips Brewing has been winning awards for a long time, such as winning their first Canadian Beer Award way back in 2007. But, much like an athlete, the later golds must feel just as special, if not more so, than the earlier ones. Back when Phillips first started winning awards the field was much thinner than it currently is. It must be so validating for one of the elder statesman of BC craft beer to still be able to strap on the cleats and show the young bucks how it’s done. Case in point, winning a gold medal at this year’s CBA’s for Session India Pale Ale, with a Hazy, nonetheless.
Glitter Bomb is hazy yellow with a billowing white head. The head lingers and leaves good lacing. The aroma is of mango and papaya with notes of kiwi, peach, and a hint of dough. It is light-bodied but with a creamy textured mouthfeel. On the palate, Glitter Bomb has a punchy bitterness. The hoppy flavours include orange, kiwi, bitter orange pith, and hints of pine and marmalade. It finishes long and medium bitter with notes of tropical fruit hoppiness and orange pith.

Cons
Please keep this beer forever
This is my favourite beer ever since my first one I changed it to my only beer after I used to float from Alexander Keith’s, Sleamans, and Richard’s but this beats them all! My girlfriend used to own a pub before Covid killed it but she got it on tap there and that’s when I first tried it ever since it’s been my favourite and only beer so drink. Highly recommend and if you discontinue it I’ll stop drinking beer please don’t get rid of tiger shark if any many of my friends also like that one the least. Please send me free glitter bombs
