Red Truck: Wild Thing Blackberry Bourbon Ale Review Review
A sweet, well-balanced, blackberry ale aged in French oak barrels. A limited release seasonal that would do well in the summer. Sold in 4 packs of 473 ml cans.
Appearance: Pours a see-through, medium red more akin to raspberries than blackberries. Generous head that dissipates quickly.
Aroma: sweet berries, raspberry/blackberry gummy candies, notes of lemon and citrus.
Palate: Medium carbonation and body, bubbles similar to a spritzer.
Flavour: Berries and more berries. The Kentucky bourbon is well-hidden as it’s not detectable in flavour or heat.
At 5.3% ABV, the bourbon component must be comparatively small as it’s not especially detectable on the nose or taste.
